The Keys

If you want to achieve anything in fitness or a specific sport, it is absolutely essential that you do two things:

1 Have a clear picture of the “big end game”.

2 Put a bunch of “small wins” in place to get you there.

If it is going to take months to achieve something, it will feel like years if you don’t set out a road map of smaller goals; goals you can aim for, hit and have a “party” over when you achieve them. The more you feel like a winner the more you will start acting like one.

Never achieve something without giving yourself a well-deserved pat on the back. Never “gate crash” your party with how far you still have to go. When you are enjoying what you are doing, it will always put you in the best place to achieve what you have set out to do.

If you go for one of those smaller goals and miss it, park it and let it be a “red flag to a bull”. In other words, lodge it as a win that you are going to achieve which will taste particularly sweet. Never, never, never doubt yourself or put yourself down.

FINAL THOUGHT…

The mountain you are facing is as big as it is ever going to get, but you haven’t stopped growing!
